Neill-Cochran House Museum is at 2310 San Gabriel St. This restored 1855 Greek Revival house, one of the oldest in Austin. was designed by architect/master builder Abner Cook, who also designed the Texas Governor's mansion. The building has been a private residence, a hospital for Union soldiers during Reconstruction, and the first home of the Texas Institute for the Blind. The museum features rotating history and arts exhibits in addition to a permanent collection of historic furnishings and decorative arts.

Admission
Guided tour $10; $8 (ages 65+); $5 (students with ID); free (ages 0-11). Self-guiding tour $5; $4 (ages 65+ and students with ID); free (ages 0-11). Reservations are required for guided tours.
Hours
Wed.-Sun. 1-4. Closed Thanksgiving week and mid-Dec. through Jan. 1. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
