Buffalo Gap Historic Village is s. on FM 89, then 2 blks. w. on Elm St. This collection of 17 structures in three historic areas is centered on the 1879 Taylor County Courthouse and Jail. The 1875, 1905 and 1925 buildings include a pioneer log cabin, a medical display, barbershop, railroad depot with a working telegraph, blacksmith shop, two-room schoolhouse and more. Pets on leash are allowed. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$7; $6 (ages 55+ and active military with ID); $4 (students with ID); free (ages 0-5).
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 9-5, Sun. noon-5, June-Aug.; Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. noon-5, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
