“Texas” Musical Drama is held in the Pioneer Amphitheatre in Palo Duro Canyon State Park, 12 mi. e. on SR 217 to 11450 Park Rd. 5. The base of a 600-foot cliff serves as the backdrop for this outdoor musical drama about the Texas Panhandle, written by Paul Green. The production features more than 60 performers, live horses, light and sound effects and fireworks. Inquire about weather policies. Tickets are available at the theater and at the “Texas” Information Office at 1514 Fifth Ave. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours, 30 minutes minimum.
Tickets $16.95-$30.95; $14.95-$28.95 (ages 60+ and military and students with ID); $12.95-$26.95 (ages 0-12). Park admission free to theater patrons after 5:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
