The 106-acre zoo features rare and endangered species and includes a gorilla conservation center. Giants of the Savanna offers an urban safari experience, featuring African elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs and more. The 25-acre Wilds of Africa exhibit re-creates six habitats: bush, desert, forest, mountain, river and woodland. Visitors can take a monorail ride through the African exhibit or walk a 1,500-foot nature trail.

Sumatran tigers live in the Endangered Tiger Habitat. The naturalistic, open-air environment of the Kimberly-Clark Chimpanzee Forest encourages the primates to climb, search for food and interact. African penguins frolic in another habitat, Otter Outpost features a family of Asian small-clawed otters, and Koala Walkabout is home to lorikeets, kookaburras and koalas. The Lacerte Family Children's Zoo features exhibits and activities related to wildlife conservation.
