Of all the "versions" of Mexican cuisine in the area, this place serves my favorite kind. The one with the simplicity that looks and tastes home made.
AAA Inspector Notes
This family-owned eatery is part of an iconic Mexican restaurant that eventually gave in to progress and was demolished. With the rustic wall hangings, bright paint, lively music, and traditionally dressed servers, this location manages to have the charm of the original house. They offer authentic cuisine (think menudo, pozole, gorditas and handmade tortillas), not Tex Mex. They also open in the late morning for breakfast.
