Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site is at 609 S. Lamar Ave. The two-story frame house in which Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower was born has been restored to its 1890 appearance. Displays in the visitor center depict local history and Eisenhower's legacy. A 9-foot-tall bronze statue of the former president stands in the wooded 6-acre park, which includes gardens and picnic facilities.</br>Picnicking is permitted.</br>
