Pier 21 Theater is located at Pier 21 at 2100 Harborside Dr. “The Great Storm” is a 27-minute documentary about the hurricane of 1900 that killed an estimated 6,000 in Galveston, and the 18-minute “The Pirate Island of Jean Laffite” is the story of an early 19th-century pirate from Galveston. The hour-long “Galveston: Gateway to the Gulf” film evokes the stories of the more than 200,000 immigrants who entered the U.S. through Galveston 1835-1935.

Hours: “The Great Storm” is shown daily on the hour 11-3 and at 5. “The Pirate Island of Jean Lafitte” is shown daily on the half-hour 11:30-3:30. “Galveston: Gateway to the Gulf” is shown Thurs.-Mon. at 10 and 4. Seating is not permitted within 10 minutes of show time; arrive early. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
