The Elissa is docked at Pier 21 at the foot of 22nd St. at the Texas Seaport Museum. This 1877 iron barque was built in Scotland and once carried Texas cotton to the mills of Europe. The 400-ton square-rigger's masts tower 103 feet above the water. Visitors may walk the decks and view the sailors' living and working quarters. A theater presentation details the ship's rescue from the scrapyard and the 5-year restoration process.
