The Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum is at 600 I-30E. This dual-theme museum follows the life of local farm boy Audie Murphy, one of the most decorated soldiers of World War II, while also illustrating the history of the cotton industry in the region. Exhibits include Murphy's uniforms and reproductions of his medals, as well as information about other notable locals. Also on the grounds is the historic Ende-Gaillard House, which can be toured by appointment. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 45 minutes minimum.

Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-5. Closed Jan. 1, Good Friday, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
