Pros: It was updated, clean, accessible, and a great value
Pros: The breakfast was more than I expected (totally excellent)and the staff was the most courteous, friendly, congenial and helpful I have ever encountered in any motel I have ever stayed in.
Cons: The room was supposed to be a suite. It did not have a microwave or fridge. Only bed and desk in the room.
breakfast was good
Pros: it was a smoking room.... the floor was sticky... stayed at several Hampton Inns this was by for the worst...
Cons: the dirty sticky carpet
Pros: The room was a smoking room and it was nasty. I don't remember the last time I've stayed in such a horrible room and I rented a room for my son and it was just as bad. The mirrors were nasty and the tub were also. There was dust on the bed headboard. Just a horrible stay and I didn't realize a Hampton could be so bad. I was not told these were smoking rooms in advance. The entire hotel smelled like smoke.
Pros: Great breakfast and very friendly staff
Cons: Room was hot
Hampton Inn standards in Hillsboro,...
Cons: First morning no waffle mix. When I asked woman at checkout desk she stated they would not be making anymore because they we about to close down breakfast. But I heard the person in charge of breakfast tell a staff member there were fresh scrambled eggs. At 10:04 we were told breakfast was closing. So we got less than 10 mins to grab food. But then every and I mean every staff member began filing in and taking what looked like a free for all. Yogurts, milk, cereal. Then the fire alarm went off and we were told to get out of the building .The desk clerk started panicking and yelling. We didn't get to finish our breakfast and do you think they offered to extend so we could get warm food after standing in the rain for an alarm. We left hungry and disappointed.
On the morning we checked out 11/26 the person handling breakfast had things stocked and made us feel welcomed. I overheard several other guests mention the absence of waffle mix the day before.
We went to checkout and were told we couldn't
have military discount. That was our breaking
point. We packed and got out of there as fast as we could. But not before I pulled the desk clerk aside of course from the breakfast bar .
I told her for 100. a night that there should be more catering to the guest not the staff. When I mentioned the food she said the staff only get the leftovers . I also told her she was a little rough with your guest. Especially during the fire alarm. Maybe the staff needs some fire drills for
some needed safety procedures.
And to close . We always stay at Hampton anytime we travel . I told the clerk before I left
that I would be putting all this in my survey.
I can't tell you her name because she didn't have a name tag on with her hoodie and blue
jeans. I know we were in HILLSBORO ,TX
but Hampton Inn standards should still exist even in HILLSBORO, TX.
Cons: The front desk staff was rude
Worst night ever in a...
Pros: Hotel is nice and clean. Breakfast was nice. I received the handicapped room I requested and it was lovely
Cons: They've taken handicapped spaces and turned them into reward member spaces. There are only 2 handicapped spaces. I had to walk 3/4 of the way around the perimeter of hotel to get in. It was around 11. The front door was locked. I understand that. My mother was critically ill and I sent my hubby and son on earlier to check I. And get some sleep while I stayed with her. The room was in my name and my credit card. The let my husband check in. When I got there and explained I didn't have a key yet but knew the room and had my drivers license and the credit card the clerk insisted on calling up to the room and waking up my husband. I asked her to please not do that as they were asleep and I had ID. She said it was policy. I was emotional and got upset. Explained about my mom and still insisted on calling. If they are so strict technically they shouldn't have let my husband check in. I shouldn't have been the one hassled. No one ever admitted this was strange. I've never seen this happen. I would have understood if I did t have ID or if the room was in my husband's name. Then around 1 am my husband and I woke up choking from a terrible burning smell. It was overwhelming. I made sure there was no fire near and called the fro t desk. The same clerk answered. I told her. She did offer another room and did seem concerned but also pretty much acted like I was exaggerating and wanted to know if my husband smelled it too like I was crazy. I told her I believed the people below us had turned in the heater for the first time and that smell was exhausting into our room. I 100% thought there was a fire. My heater has done that before but this smell was overwhelming for hours. 10x worse than I've ever smelled. My husband and son were able to sleep. I stayed up all night worrying about a fire. It was the single worst night I've ever spent in a hotel.
Stay was good enough I'll...
Pros: Breakfast was ok, egg omelet was good. Coffee good , had several choices
Cons: Didn't offer but only 1 choice of breakfast meat
Not what I'm use to...
Pros: Enjoyed the breakfast. There were 2 employees that were hospitable to the extent of making sure I was satisfied. And then there were some other employees that were NOT as friendly in expressing any concern
Cons: I think you should move the ash tray from being right in front of the door where the guest need to put key in to enter the hotel to another area for smokers.
Pros: Breakfast was excellent tasting and hot. Beds were very comfortable and the pillows were like new. Staff was very courteous and called when we reached our room to make sure everything was good.
