Holocaust Museum Houston is at 5401 Caroline St. Dedicated to promoting awareness of the dangers of hatred, prejudice and apathy in today's society, the museum offers a historical and educational view of the Holocaust through photographs, videos, survivors' oral histories and labeled historical items. A Memorial Room is available for contemplation. Changing exhibits also are featured in two galleries and in the Boniuk Resource Center.
$12; $8 (ages 65+ and active military with ID); free (ages 0-18, college students with ID and to all Thurs. 2-5).
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat. 10-5, Sun. noon-5. Guided tours depart every hour Sat.-Sun. 12:30-3:30 (also Sat. at 11:30). Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
