Houston Museum of Natural Science is at 5555 Hermann Park Dr. in Hermann Park, within the Houston Museum District. Exhibits focus on astronomy, anthropology, entomology, geology, malacology, paleontology, zoology and natural history. Collections include Native American artifacts and the hall of gems and minerals. The Cockrell Butterfly Center is home to thousands of butterflies, insects and rain forest plants. Daily shows are offered at the Wortham Giant Screen Theatre and the Burke Baker Planetarium.
Museum $25; $15 (ages 3-11, ages 62+ and college students with ID); $8 (military with ID); free (ages 0-2 and to all Thurs. after 3). An additional fee is charged for special exhibitions. Wortham Giant Screen Theatre shows $12; $10 (ages 3-11, ages 62+ and college students with ID); $8 (military with ID). Planetarium or butterfly center $9; $8 (ages 3-11, ages 62+ and college students with ID); $6 (military with ID). Butterfly center $8; $7 (ages 3-11 and 62+). Reservations are recommended for the Wortham Giant Screen Theater. Parking: $10.
