Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge

Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge is at 22688 Buena Vista Blvd. Encompassing 88,000 acres of the former delta of the Rio Grande, Laguna Atascosa provides resting and feeding grounds for some 414 species of birds, including falcons, storks, sandhill cranes and waterfowl. Up to 80 percent of the continent's redheaded ducks winter here. The refuge also is home to coyotes, bobcats, ocelots, jaguarundis and white-tailed deer.
