Museum of Texas Tech University is at Fourth St. and Indiana Ave. Exhibits emphasize the environment, history and cultures of Texas, the Southwest and arid and semiarid lands around the world. The museum's art collection includes sculpture, bronzes, ceramics, jades, ivories and Southwestern landscapes. There also are displays about Lubbock history, ethnohistory, natural history, dinosaurs and pre-Columbian and African art. The Moody Planetarium also is featured.
Museum free. Planetarium $5; $3 (ages 6-17, ages 60+ and students with ID); free (ages 0-5 and military with ID).
Hours: Museum Tues.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. 1-5. Planetarium shows are given Wed. and Fri.-Sun. at 2 and 3:30 (also Sat. at 11:30), Thurs. at noon and 2. Closed most major holidays. Allow 1 hour minimum.
