Port Isabel Lighthouse

Port Isabel Lighthouse is at Maxan and Tarnava sts. in the Museums of Port Isabel complex. Visitors may climb to the top of the lighthouse, which guided ships through the barrier islands and Brazos Santiago 1852-1905. It is the only lighthouse along the coast of Texas open to the public. The lighthouse keeper's cottage, which houses the chamber of commerce, includes historic lighthouse-related items.

Note: Rubber-soled shoes are recommended. Children under 38 inches tall and under 4 years old are not permitted to climb the lighthouse.
