Fulton Mansion State Historic Site is at 317 Fulton Beach Rd. at jct. Henderson Street; the Education and History Center is behind the mansion. This restored 1877 house was built in the French Second Empire style. The elaborate house incorporated such innovations as gas lighting, flush toilets, central heat and hot and cold running water. The Education and History Center offers interactive exhibits. Picnic tables are located on the mansion's south lawn.
Note: Due to damage from Hurricane Harvey in August 2017, the mansion is undergoing repairs. Tours will take place as the construction schedule allows; phone for tour dates. The Education and History Center remains open.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted.
