Fulton Mansion State Historic Site is at 317 Fulton Beach Rd. at jct. Henderson Street; the Education and History Center is behind the mansion. This restored 1877 house was built in the French Second Empire style. The elaborate house incorporated such innovations as gas lighting, flush toilets, central heat and hot and cold running water. The Education and History Center offers interactive exhibits. Gardens planted by Harriet Fulton are on the grounds.
Picnic tables are located on the mansion's south lawn.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Hours: Education and History Center open Tues.-Sat. 9:30-4:30, Sun. 12:30-4:30. Guided house tours depart Tues.-Sat. 10-3:30, Sun. 1-3:30. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and Dec. 31. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
