Family with Young Children
Son pointed out a bed bug on his pillow. I killed it; took a picture, and brought it down to the staff. They switched my room, but clearly, one room with bed bugs usually means they all do. Ordered room service; ordered chicken strips, which are fried; I bit in and it was pink and watery, under-cooked and disgusting. They were clearly very understaffed; they didn't have a bartender or anyone working the kitchen; a manager had gotten his bar license, so he worked the bar and opened the kitchen to work both. But they had a sign that said happy hour was 5 to 8, and by 6:30, they still were not doing anything. I kept waiting, but eventually had to leave the hotel, which I specifically was trying not to do. When you see that a hotel has a restaurant, you expect it to have one. I had a horrible travel the day before; and wanted to be able to get a few drinks without having to drive. But by the time they opened the bar, I needed to go to bed to wake up early the next morning. The bed bug thing was the worst. Gross. I feel bad for the front desk attendants, who were sweet. Management must have issues. How did they not have a bartender or anyone in the kitchen and no back ups of any kind? Where was the report I could fill out about the bed bugs? I asked about filling out a report and they looked confused. Anyway, not going back.
Pros: The staff were smiling and friendly, despite many unfortunate circumstances.
Cons: Son pointed out a bed bug on his pillow; I killed it; took a picture. Served us chicken that was not cooked through and I bit in and it was disgusting. Understaffed; couldn't open bar or restaurant on time; eventually a manager ran the bar and kitchen.
