San Antonio Fire Museum is at 801 E. Houston St. Housed in the old Fire Station No. 1 building behind the Alamo, the museum displays firefighters’ uniforms, accessories and equipment; antique fire trucks, including a 1927 American LaFrance and a 1951 Mack; communication and alerting systems ranging from telegraph boxes to computers; and other firefighting-related items. Active and retired firefighters serve as volunteer docents.
