Witte Museum, 3801 Broadway St. in Brackenridge Park, focuses on science, natural history and South Texas heritage. Visitors can learn about the ecology of Texas; explore a four-story tree house that's filled with science-related exhibits; and see dinosaur bones, a 2,000-year-old mummy, live animals and historical homes. Featuring artifacts from the 1800s, the South Texas Heritage Center traces area history. Theater performances and interactive programs are other highlights. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
