It was a good base...
Pros: The staff were excellent. Friendly, helpful, interested, knowledgeable. The Sweet Fire Kitchen, where we dined twice, was relaxed with very good food.
Cons: We stayed in "The Villas" part of the resort, which may be quite different from the main hotel. But the Villas lack investment. We were told the units had just been renovated, but quickly discovered that the AC/heating system was not part of the renovation. It is old, rigid (only one loud fan setting), noisy and vibrating. In bed, it feels like being at 40,000 feet in a jetliner. The pool pumps are nearby and noisy whereas those at the main hotel are housed in a building and quieter. The golf carts used for getting around are old ones, with noisy, smelly two-stroke gasoline engines, whereas the ones at the main building are quiet, clean electric ones. After four nights, our sheets had not been changed once, and we had to ask for them to be changed for our last night.
