Pros: The Menger is one of the old Grand Hotels. The Menger Bar's walls exude history, from cattle barons to Teddy Roosevelt. It is currently undergoing renovations to restore historical decor in the lobby and I look forward to visiting again

Poor

Pros: The location was great, right next to the Alamo! Lots of history and really close to the river walk with lots of foot choices and shops.
Cons: Old building, smelled like urine in the main hallways and rooms. Probably just water damage from being an old building. Rooms were small, tub didn't drain properly.

Pros: The location and history of the hotel.
Cons: Carpet had a rust spot on it and the a/c would turn off and it would get hot inside the room.

Pros: The character and history of the hotel was very neat. It felt like I was stepping back in time. The location was great too. We were right by the Alamo, the mall and across the street from the Riverwalk.
Cons: Reservation was for double beds for a few rooms. We checked in by 4, we were told they didn't have any double bed rooms. They told us they'd have them the next day and we were told again there weren't any. They finally fixed it after staying on them about it

Pros: Close to Riverwalk. We loved the history behind the hotel.
Cons: I think they should invest in higher quality sheets that actually fit the bed, sheets were huge and kept coming up around our feet.
