Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge is 1.5 mi. s. on FM 168, following signs to refuge entrance. A winter refuge for ducks and geese, the 7,664-acre refuge no longer contains the lake for which it is named. Facilities for picnicking, camping and bird-watching are available.
