Red River Valley Museum is at 4600 College Dr. (US 70W). The history of Texas ranching and the Great Western Cattle Trail is presented through artifacts and murals in three main galleries. The Berry Gallery tells the history of Wilbarger County. The Bond Big Game Gallery has a 135 large game animals collected from all over the world. A replica of the sculpture studio of Texas artist Electra Waggonner Biggs houses one of the largest collections of her work in one location. The history of Texas ranching and the Great Western Cattle Trail is presented through artifacts and murals. A Jack Teagarden exhibit contains memorabilia of the jazz trombonist, who was born in Vernon. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
