Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Centre

Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Centre is on Chippingham Rd. near Fort Charlotte. More than 1,000 tropical and subtropical plants flourish on approximately 4 acres. Against this setting, a flamingo platoon marches to the commands of a friendly drill sergeant. The birds, usually a shy and easily frightened species, will stand while visitors snap pictures at close range. The zoo has more than 130 birds, mammals and reptiles, many of which are endangered Bahamian or Caribbean species.
