Carson County Square House Museum is 1 mi. n. of jct. US 60 and SR 207 at 501 Elsie St. Thirteen structures at the site include a 24-foot-square house built in the 1880s. Wildlife dioramas and more than 10,000 artifacts are displayed at the museum, which relates the story of 12,000 years of human adaptation to the north Texas plains. On the grounds are two art galleries, a windmill, a church, a barn, a dugout shelter, a paddy wagon and a railroad exhibit.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
