Utah Shakespeare Festival takes place at the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts, on the Southern Utah University campus off I-15. Three Shakespearean plays as well as works by other playwrights are presented. Evening performances are preceded by a Greenshow that features a rotating schedule of Elizabethan music performances, Merrie Olde England dance performances, juggling, magic or storytelling. Works from The New American Playwrights Project are performed in August in the Auditorium Theatre. Day-care services are provided on the festival grounds.
Tickets $20-$73. There is a $4 facilities fee per ticket for some performances. Limited half-price gallery seats are available in person after 10 a.m. on the day of the performance (with a four-can food donation). New American Playwrights Project $10. Backstage tour $8. Under 6 are not permitted at performances. Reservations are recommended.
Hours: The season runs June 28-Oct. 20. Matinee and evening performances are given daily through early Sept. Backstage tours are offered on selected mornings. Check the website for complete schedule information.
