Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is at 12033 S. Lone Peak Pkwy. The museum includes the Discover Utah gallery, exhibiting freshwater aquatic species, amphibians and mammals indigenous to the state. The North American River Otter exhibit showcases these lively animals in indoor and outdoor environments. The Ocean Explorer gallery hosts myriad marine species such as octopus, stingrays, seahorses and other deep-sea creatures, in addition to interactive exhibits and a 300,000-gallon shark tank with a 40-foot walk-through tunnel. The Journey to South America gallery includes 15 species of freshwater animals from the rivers of the Amazon, including free-flight tropical birds, caimans, anacondas, an electric eel and dozens of other exotic species. The Antarctic Adventure gallery features 15 Gentoo penguins with the potential to house up to 30 birds of three different species in the years to come. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
