Thanksgiving Point is off I-15 exit 284 to Ashton Blvd. The more than 700-acre complex, a dairy farm for close to a century, includes extensive flower and vegetable gardens, a dinosaur museum, an interactive hands-on children’s museum, an animal farm, a family science center, a golf course designed by Hall of Fame golfer Johnny Miller, a farmers market, shops, restaurants, a megaplex theater and a 5,000-seat amphitheater. Farm Country—a working farm that is home to chickens, cows, horses, llamas and peacocks—also has educational displays and pony and wagon rides. Fifty-five acres of themed gardens available for strolling include the Rose Garden, Italian Garden, Butterfly Garden, Monet Garden, Waterfall Garden and Fragrance Garden. The Tulip Festival in spring features 300,00 imported tulips from Holland. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
Gardens $15; $12 (ages 3-12 and 65+). Farm Country (includes pony and wagon ride) $7. Additional pony ride $2.
Hours: Grounds Mon.-Sat. and holidays 10-8. Gardens Mon.-Sat. 10-8, late Mar.-late Oct. Farm Country and museums Mon.-Sat. 10-8, Apr.-Oct.; 10-5, rest of year. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
