AAA Editor Notes
The Valley of the Gods is 10 mi. n.e. via SR 261. Nature, by way of water, wind and ice erosion, has carved spectacular, brilliantly colored sandstone monoliths and rock formations over millions of years. A scenic, 17-mile loop road that connects SRs 163 and 261 winds its way through the valley. The dirt road is bumpy and steep in some parts but is suitable for driving during favorable weather.
Note: Visitors should inquire about road conditions during inclement weather.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
