AAA Editor Notes
The Valley of the Gods is 10 mi. n.e. via SR 261. Water, wind and ice erosion has carved out spectacular, brilliantly colored sandstone monoliths and rock formations over millions of years. A scenic, 17-mile loop dirt road that connects US 163 and SR 261 winds its way through the valley. Although some sections are bumpy and steep, the road is drivable when the weather is not inclement.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
