AAA Editor Notes
Homestead Crater is on the grounds of the Homestead Resort at 700 N. Homestead Dr. The crater, which began forming some 10,000 years ago, is filled with warm mineral water now enjoyed by swimmers, snorkelers and scuba divers. Sunlight enters through a large hole at the top of this hollowed-out, 55-foot-tall, beehive-shaped limestone rock. After checking in at the Activity Center, visitors enter through a short, illuminated tunnel dug through the rock wall at ground level. Decks, a soaking area and dressing rooms are provided.
Recreational activities are permitted.
