Fort Buenaventura is off I-15, then e. to 2450 A Ave. The park contains a replica of the 1836 stockade and cabins built by trapper Miles Goodyear. Wooden pegs and mortise and tenon joints were used instead of nails in the construction of the stockade. Fishing and canoeing are permitted. Hiking trails are available. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$1; free (ages 0-5). Camping $18. Canoe rental $5 (1 hour); $3 (half-hour).
Hours: Park open daily 8-8, Apr.-Nov. Visitor center open daily 9-5, Apr.-Nov.
