Fremont Indian State Park is 5 mi. s.w. off I-70 exit 17. The 1,784-acre park was established to protect the area's heritage of rock art and archeological sites. A museum interprets the evolution of the Fremont Anasazi Indian culture A.D. 500-1300 and displays artifacts and pictographs taken from nearby Five Fingers Hill. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
$6 (per private vehicle, maximum eight people) or $3 (per person arriving by other means). Camping $15. Teepee $30.
Hours: Daily 9-6, mid-May to mid-Sept.; 9-5, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Allow 30 minutes minimum.
