American West Heritage Center is at 4025 S. US 89/91. This 160-acre living-history complex includes the Trappers Cabin, Pioneer Encampment and 1917 Farm historic sites. Displays highlight pioneer music, folk life and other aspects of life between 1820 and 1920. Activities such as sheep shearing, woodworking and threshing are demonstrated. Special events are held throughout the year. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$5-$12; $3-$12 (ages 3-11). Combination tickets are available. Prices vary for special events.
Hours: Open Tues.-Fri. and holidays 9-5, Sat. 10-5 (historic sites open 11-4), June-Aug.; Mon.-Fri. 9-3 (historic sites only open during special events), Sept. 1-late Sept.; Mon.-Thurs. 10-9, Fri.-Sat. 10-10, late Sept.-late Oct. (historic sites closed). Phone for schedule rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
