Steamboat Era Museum is at 156 King Carter Dr. Rotating exhibits detail how steamboats affected and changed the lives of people living around the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The golden age of the steamboat, a period which lasted from about 1813-1937, is related through artifacts, dioramas, models and historical documents. The museum also features a large oral history library that includes video histories from workers, travelers, residents and others who experienced this era.
