Stratford Hall is off SR 3 to SR 214, then 1 mi. following signs. The house, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee, was built circa 1738 in the shape of an H and is among the finest examples of Colonial architecture in the United States. Owned by the Lee family 1717-1822, the plantation still is operated in the manner of that era. Visitors can wander more than 1,900 acres of woods, meadows, gardens and cultivated fields.

The visitor center offers several galleries featuring interpretive displays, artifacts and temporary exhibitions. Auxiliary buildings include an 18th-century kitchen and a coach house. A reconstructed mill grinds corn, wheat, oats and barley (weather permitting) on the second Saturday of each month April through October. More than 2 miles of nature trails crisscross the plantation.

Pets are not permitted inside buildings.

Guided tours are available. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.).
