The House of the Temple, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry is at 1733 16th St. N.W. This building, modeled after the tomb of Mausolus at Halicarnassus (now Bodrum) in Asia Minor, displays a variety of museum collections that include Masonic and fraternal memorabilia, works by and about Scottish poet Robert Burns and many of the personal belongings of folk singer Burl Ives. There is an extensive library of Masonic and related subjects.
