ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain is downtown on the waterfront, just w. of jct. College and Battery sts., at 1 College St. In this nature and science center, numerous tanks hold 70 live species you can find in the area. Enhance learning with more than 100 interactive experiences for all ages. Northfield Savings Bank 3D Theater screens nature and science films daily.

Some permanent exhibits include Action Lab, a 3-D augmented reality watershed sand table; Into the Lake, a shipwreck for kids to explore and discover live sturgeon and learn about invasive species; and Indigenous Expressions, a look at the Native Americans who lived in the Lake Champlain basin. In Champ Lane, a 2,500-square-foot interactive learning space, families can climb in a tree house, captain a ship, shop in a market, explore water play and care for animals in the Kids Lab. Rotating exhibits change seasonally.
