AAA Editor Notes
Hubbardton Battlefield State Historic Site is off US 4 exit 5, then 7 mi. n. to 5696 Monument Hill Rd. in East Hubbardton. This is the site of the only Revolutionary War battle fought entirely on Vermont soil. On July 7, 1777, Colonial troops in retreat from Mount Independence and Fort Ticonderoga delayed the pursuing British and Hessian forces. A diorama, interpretive display and narrated relief map depict the battle.
