UVM Morgan Horse Farm is at 74 Battell Dr. The Morgan horse, state animal of Vermont, is said to be America's first breed of horse. After a guided tour and a video presentation, visitors can explore the grounds of the picturesque working farm, which features historical outbuildings and typically houses 40 to 60 stallions, mares and foals. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Grounds (includes tour) $5; $4 (ages 13-19); $2 (ages 5-12).
Hours: Grounds open daily 9-4, May-Oct.; by appointment, rest of year. Tours depart on the hour 9-3, May-Oct.
