AAA Editor Notes
Old Government House Museum is next to the Governor’s Office in Road Town. This elegant house for the Commissioner of the British Virgin Islands was built in 1926 after the original was destroyed by a hurricane. The house and gardens are open to the public; historical exhibits include period furniture, cannonballs and glass bottles recovered during excavation of the grounds. Murals in the dining room depicting 19th-century island life were painted by the governor's wife.
