Pros: We had a sea view room closed to the pool & beach. It is much more convenient than staying in a villa. We also had a good view of the bay at sunset. Some water sports such as kayak & paddling board are included which was great. Sports equipment rental price was reasonable. The pool was a good size for both kids & adults. The whole resort is not crowded when comparing with some other resorts. We felt very comfortable there. There was a small market at a walking distance from the resort which is great for getting grocery & alcohol. Big selection of alcohol at good price. The resort is closed to the town which is convenient for eating out.
Cons: There were many boats in the bay. It is kind of crowded. We kayak in the bay smelling diesel. The burger I ordered at Lemongrass was cooked in old oil. The beach was full of seaweed for 3 out of 6 days. The water was far from the best comparing to the other beaches in St. John. I recommend that visitors explore other beaches. The restaurants are pricey talking about the quality or the kind of food. Most of the staff didn't wear a smile on their faces.

Pros: The location is superb. Close to town, beaches and shopping.
Cons: Paying $705 for a room directly adjacent to an amplified bingo game accompanied by a staff that couldn't care less about the noise puts this property on my "avoid at all cost" list. Stay at Caneel Bay Resort, you will be treated like royalty.
