Mast of the Battleship USS Maine is bordered on two sides by Sigsbee Dr. in Arlington National Cemetery. The battleship was sunk in Havana Harbor on Feb. 15, 1898. The explosion was one of a series of events that led to the beginning of the Spanish-American War. The memorial is surrounded by the graves of the 62 known and 167 unknown men who died in the disaster.
