National Firearms Museum is off I-66 exit 57A, .5 mi. e. on US 50, then .3 mi. n. to 11250 Waples Mill Rd., on the main floor of the National Rifle Association's headquarters. Fifteen galleries of displays feature antique firearms from wars significant in America's history, as well as modern engraved handguns. Life-size dioramas, historical replicas and guns previously belonging to celebrities also are exhibited. Featured exhibits include Hollywood Guns, the Robert E. Petersen Gallery and the Kentucky Rifle: A Complete Narrative 1750-1850. Food is available.
