AAA Editor Notes

Rising Sun Tavern is at 1304 Caroline St. George Washington's youngest brother, Charles, built the landmark in 1760 as his private residence. It became a tavern in 1792. Costumed “tavern wenches” and male “indentured servants” tell of a typical stay at a Colonial tavern for upper, middle and lower classes.
