Boykins Tavern is at 17146 Monument Cir. Built in 1762 by Maj. Francis Boykin, the tavern served as a gathering spot for travelers and those conducting business at the nearby courthouse and jail. It remained in the Boykin family until 1831. Two downstairs rooms and a basement kitchen re-create the original tavern surroundings.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
