“Stonewall” Jackson House is at 8 E. Washington St. This was the home of Gen. Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson from 1859 until his death in 1863, a result of wounds received at the Battle of Chancellorsville. The house is restored and furnished with many original pieces. Jackson’s personal effects also are exhibited. Guided tours are available.
$8; $6 (ages 6-17).
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 9-5, Sun. 1-5, Mar.-Dec. Guided tours are available every 30 minutes. Last tour begins 30 minutes before closing. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
