Luray Valley Museum, 1 mi. w. on US 211 and 340 bypass at Luray Caverns, documents early Shenandoah Valley history and culture. Documents, period clothing and decorative items are displayed in a reconstructed log building; the highlight of the collection is a 1536 Swiss Bible in the German vernacular. Also on the grounds are a group of restored and reconstructed historical structures depicting a 19th-century farming community. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
