Chimborazo Medical Museum is at 3215 E. Broad St. in Richmond National Battlefield Park. The massive Chimborazo Hospital, built in 1861, treated more than 76,000 Confederate patients during the Civil War. The 40-acre hilltop site was said to be named by a Richmond traveler for a volcano in Ecuador. Exhibits and a film tell the story of hospital life and the Confederate Medical Service.
