Virginia War Memorial is at the n. end of Robert E. Lee Bridge at 621 S. Belvidere St. (US 1). Overlooking the Richmond skyline and the James River, the memorial honors nearly 12,000 Virginians killed in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf and the Global War on Terrorism. The memorial includes the inspiring glass and marble Shrine of Memory.

Military artifacts, including uniforms, weapons and medals, are displayed in the Paul and Phyllis Galanti Education Center, which also features an auditorium, a lecture hall and an outdoor amphitheater. A theater features the film “Into Battle” and the video series “Virginians at War.”
