William Byrd Park is at 600 S. Boulevard. The 287-acre park contains the Christopher Columbus Monument and the 56-bell World War I Memorial Carillon. The Festival of Arts, featuring ballets, plays and musical performances, takes place at Dogwood Dell Amphitheatre and Ha'Penny Stage from mid-June to mid-August.
Recreational activities include pedal boating, tennis and softball. A children's playground and the 1-mile Vita Course trail also are on-site.
Food is available in summer.
Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
